About Bloom and Grow Lactation

Bloom & Grow
Leigh Campbell, MD, IBCLC, NABBLM-C, PMH-C
Founder & Practitioner
Dr. Campbell is a dedicated mother of three with a professional focus on maternal and infant health. She earned her medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2005 completed her pediatrics training there, later specializing in neonatology through fellowship training at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. As a neonatologist at UMMC, Dr. Campbell collaborated closely with postpartum individuals to offer lactation support for their newborns. Her clinical expertise in lactation medicine is backed by fellowship training and board certification from the North American Board of Lactation and Breastfeeding Medicine (NABBLM).
Dr. Campbell is a dedicated advocate for lactation, focused on providing support and expertise in lactation medicine during the vital perinatal transition for parents and newborns. After enduring years of infertility before the arrival her twins, Leigh found comfort in singing her beloved childhood song "Edelweiss," from the 1965 film The Sound of Music, to her babies during her pregnancy and after their birth.
The Edelweiss Flower, which flourishes in challenging, high-altitude environments, embodies the journey of resilience needed to navigate a breastfeeding journey. "May you bloom and grow, bloom grow forever."
Her strong commitment to transitioning into breastfeeding medicine is inspired by her own breastfeeding experiences and the challenge of balancing her role as a University staff physician, which led her to establish "Bloom and Grow Lactation" in 2022. Together, we cultivate an environment where families can blossom and reach their fullest potential. Nurture, nourish, and flourish.
